General Information

Provides resources and information to raise the awareness of problem gambling in Indiana and works to support the treatment and prevention efforts of the state.

The Indiana Council on Problem Gambling strives to generate awareness, promote education, and be an advocate for quality treatment of problem gamblers in the State of Indiana.

National Council on Problem Gambling
The Mission of the National Council on Problem Gambling is to increase public awareness of pathological gambling, ensure the widespread availability of treatment for problem gamblers and their families, and to encourage research and programs for prevention and education.

Prevention-Specific

National Problem Gambling Awareness Week
The NCPG is the national advocate for programs and services to assist problem gamblers and their families. The goal of this campaign is to educate the general public and health care professionals about the warning signs of problem gambling and raise awareness about the help that is available both locally and nationally.

Lane County Oregon Problem Gambling Prevention
Mission: To reduce the negative effects of gambling in Lane County communities through coordinating effective prevention strategies.

Indiana Gaming Commission program allows individual to exclude themselves from all Indiana casinos for one year, five years or life by signing up for this program.

Mailing Lists

A problem gambling awareness listserv has been created to keep professionals (both prevention and treatment) up-to-date on problem gambling trainings, workshops, conferences, clinical supervision calls, and much more. It is also a forum to share information with your colleagues.

National Gambling Impact Study Commission Final Report
An unprecedented national report on gambling impacts completed by the National Gambling Impact Study Commission (NGISC) in 1999 and submitted to the President, Congress, state governors, and tribal leaders; also see the Gambling Impact and Behavior Study, completed in 1999 and submitted to the NGISC.

The WAGER
The Worldwide Addiction Gambling Education Report is a research bulletin published by the Division on Addictions at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling; it is intended to disseminate information about the study of pathological gambling.

International Centre for Youth Gambling Problems and High-Risk Behaviors
